Lisbon Portrait Retreat

Lisbon, Portugal | October 4–9, 2026

Why This Retreat?

Step away from the everyday and into a thoughtfully curated experience for photographers. This immersive retreat is designed for creatives who want to grow both artistically and personally. Through hands-on photo education talks, Photoshop tutorials, and guided portrait sessions with Portuguese locals, you’ll sharpen your skills, expand your creative vision, and return home inspired to see your work—and your world—differently.

What makes this experience special is the way it blends meaningful photographic learning with deep cultural immersion. You’ll explore Lisbon through a photographer’s lens, capturing light, texture, and story while engaging with the city’s vibrant character and rich traditions. Think of this not as a vacation, but as an investment in your creative journey.

Why Lisbon?

Portugal is a photographer’s dream, especially for those drawn to people and story. From local artisans and café owners to residents who have lived in the same neighborhoods for generations, the city offers endless opportunities for meaningful, authentic portrait work.
One of the oldest cities in the world—older than Rome—Lisbon’s charm is woven into its weathered streets, tiled facades, and hilltop neighborhoods. The soft light, relaxed pace, and warmth of the Portuguese people create an ideal setting to slow down, connect, and make portraits that feel timeless.

Balance of Learning and Leisure

This retreat is designed with intention—to grow your creative skills while leaving space to breathe, connect, and enjoy the beauty of Portugal. Each day includes thoughtfully planned photo education sessions, creative talks, and hands-on learning, balanced with cultural excursions and free time to explore.

Whether you choose to photograph the neighborhoods at golden hour, sip coffee by the waterfront, refine images in Photoshop, or simply wander with your camera and curiosity, this experience is yours to shape—at a pace that invites both creativity and rest.

Traveling with a Spouse or Friend?

Spouses and non-photographer companions are welcome to join all group excursions and dinners! They’ll enjoy the cultural side of the trip while you engage in the portrait workshops.
